The north side of the DR
The past weekend (and the one before that) we went to Puerto Plata, a town in the north side of the Dominican Republic. It was a nice trip even though the bus ride took five hours. The buses were huge and comfortable, though. I got to see sides of this country that I had only heard about. I am in the capital city right now, where things are hectic and noisy and messy, well you get the picture. The north is really beautiful. There is a lot poverty, but you can also see bigger, prettier houses with exterior wood shutters (that I absolutely love). The beaches, like in Puerto Rico, are very pretty with strong waves since it's the Atlantic Ocean and not the Caribbean. The Caribbean Sea is warmer and a lot more peaceful. The people are a lot friendlier too. I really, really loved going up there. I hope I can go again.
As for now, I can honestly say that I'm tired, TIRED of this place and that I want to go home already!!!
